Tapis

Tapis are traditional clothes of women in province of Lampung, Indonesia. It's a woven made of cotton yarn with motives or "sugi" decorated, silver or gold yarn, with a kind of embroidery system (cucuk). This kind of clothes usually wear as "sarong", and have many motives like nature, animal and floral embroidery. This clothes is a traditional craft because of the tools that use by craftsman still conventional, and usually done by women as a part of sacred tradition. This clothes now are the high valuable commodity of Lampung that have high economic values.
